This was our first time flying with KLM. Our flights were free of the usual frustrations of flying, and we arrived in Rome on schedule. Although we’re tired, we did an hour or so’s recce of the immediate area around our hotel and now it’s time for a rest.
This is the view from our third story room:
We’ll be rubbing shoulders with the Pope for a few days; we’ll, we’ll be neighbours at least– looking north from the balcony, which looks almost due east.
Benvenuti a Roma! Looks like a nice spot, and glad to hear you’ve made it through all the travels unscathed. Hope you’re getting a bit of time-adjusting rest and out for a good thorough walk around.

Grazie molto! We were in bed and asleep by about 8:30 last night—slept until 7:30 this morning. Tonight we’re feeling quite acclimatized to the time change, but maybe the nine hour walkabout today helped :-). More details to be posted.

Yes indeed, so far so good. We had a couple of great salads for lunch yesterday, and then savoury crepes for supper. Breakfasts have been cappuccinos, croissants, cold cuts. And we’re even now thinking about what to have for lunch today—waiting for a rain shower to pass.
